School’s Out / Art’s In: Hidden Character Collage

Teaching artists lead unique art projects during spring break. From whimsical sculptures to multi-layered collages and vibrant painting explorations, each day offers a new activity to spark your child’s imagination. 

Tuesday, April 15: Hidden Character Collage 

Experiment with drawing and collage techniques to playfully disguise figures throughout your artwork.  

Wednesday, April 16: Whimsical Creatures 

Make a whimsical sculpture inspired by the work of exhibition artist Ali Banisadr and your own imagination. 

Thursday, April 17: Painting to Music 

Using music as a starting point, translate sounds into art through expressive mark-making. Develop a series of mini paintings while experimenting with a variety of brushes and tools. 

Friday, April 18: Magical Painted Characters   

What can we see within abstracted paintings? Discover how spontaneous brushstrokes and abstracted forms can be turned into fantastical figures in this creative painting workshop.  

Ages 3-8 with an adult; ages 9 and up can be dropped off.  

Space is limited. Registration is strongly recommended.  

Ticket price includes Museum admission.
