Driving is a convenient way to access the Museum, especially if you’re traveling with the whole family! Take Exit 6 off Interstate 684. Turn onto Route 35 east. At first light turn right onto Route 22 south. The Museum is located 1/4 mile on the left. For custom directions from wherever you’re located, enter your address into Google Maps.

New York City's convenient public transit is an environmentally friendly way to get to the Museum every day of the year. Encourage your friends and family in NYC or within access of Metro North to take the train to the Museum and save nearly 25% with the MTA's rail and admission tickets package.

From Grand Central Terminal (Harlem Division of Metro North), take the Metro-North Harlem Line to Katonah Station. The trip one-way from Grand Central is about 1 hour 15 minutes. The Museum is located 0.7 miles east of the Katonah train station. From the train station, it is a 10-20-minute walk. Taxi service is also available. Pricing Information from GCT/Harlem-125th Street:

Purchase your package from any Metro-North ticket office or full-service ticket vending machine (excluding Katonah Station). 

Car service from the Katonah Train Station to the KMA (3 minutes away) is available by calling Katonah Taxi at 914.232.5772. Be sure to book a round trip ride with the taxi or car service company if you’ll be returning to the train station.

Bee-Line Bus

The Bee-Line is Westchester County's bus system, serving over 27 million passengers annually with convenient service connecting residents to jobs, recreation, shopping and other regional transportation services. Many Westchester County residences and workplaces are within walking distance to a Bee-Line bus route, making the bus both close and convenient.

Riding public transit is a great travel choice.  It helps our environment by reducing air pollution and traffic congestion.  It's also a bargain. Transit fares are competitive with the out-of-pocket costs of driving, especially if you pay for parking.  Avoid the traffic hassles for you, allowing yourself time to read, relax, socialize, plan your day, or even your next vacation.

From New York City: Take the Henry Hudson Parkway north to the Saw Mill River Parkway north to I-684 north to Exit 6. Follow By Car from I-684 directions above. Approximate drive time is one hour.

From Long Island: Taking the Throgs Neck Bridge, go from I-95 north to I-287 west to I-684 north to Exit 6. Follow By Car from I-684 directions above. Taking the Whitestone Bridge, go from the Hutchinson River Parkway to I-684 north to Exit 6. Follow By Carfrom I-684 directions above.

From New Jersey: Taking the Tappan Zee Bridge, go from I-287 east to the Saw Mill River Parkway north to I-684 north to Exit 6. Follow By Car from I-684  directions above. Taking the George Washington Bridge, go from the Henry Hudson Parkway north to the Saw Mill River Parkway north to I-684 north to Exit 6. Follow By Car from I-684  directions above.

From Albany: Take I-87 south to Exit 17 toward I-84/New York 300/New York 17K/Scranton/Newburgh. Follow signs for I-84 E/Danbury then keep right at the fork and merge onto I-84 East. Go 31.5 miles to Exit 20S towards White Plains and merge onto I-684 south. Take I-684 south to Exit 6. Follow By Car from I-684  directions above.

From Connecticut: Take I-84 west to I-684 south to Exit 6. Follow By Carfrom I-684 directions above. Or take I-95 south to I-287 west to I-684 north to Exit 6. Follow By Carfrom I-684 directions above. Or take the Merritt Parkway to Long Ridge Road. (Follow directions below from Stamford.)

From Greenwich: Take North Street or Round Hill Road through Banksville to the intersection of Route 22. Turn right onto Route 22 north, through Bedford Village. Continue to the junction of Girdle Ridge Road, with a green Caramoor sign. Turn right onto Girdle Ridge Road and continue .5 miles to the Caramoor gates on the right. Approximate drive time is 20 minutes.

From Stamford: Take Long Ridge Road or High Ridge Road north to Route 172. Turn left onto Route 172 to Bedford Village and turn right onto Route 22 north through the Village. Follow Route 22 to the junction of Girdle Ridge Road, with a green Caramoor sign. Turn right onto Girdle Ridge Road and continue .5 miles to the Caramoor gates on the right. Approximate drive time is 25 minutes.
